Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 7: The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency convened a meeting on 05.12.2025 with representatives of all recognized political parties to discuss the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll-2026.
The meeting aimed to ensure transparency, cooperation, and smooth execution of the revision activities as mandated by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The ERO briefed the participants on the schedule, procedures, and guidelines to be followed during SIR. During the discussion, the ERO expressed serious concern over the large number of uncollected Enumeration Forms (EFs) and shared the tentative list of Untraceable/Absent/Permanently Shifted/Death/Already Enrolled data of all three Tehsils of South Andaman District with representatives of all recognized political parties.
Further, Political parties were urged to sensitize their Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to coordinate closely with BLOs for early resolution of all such uncollected EFs of the electors. The ERO cautioned that if these issues remain unresolved, the names of ASDD (Address Shift, Death, Duplicate) electors may be deleted in the Draft Electoral Roll, scheduled to be published on 16.12.2025, as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
Representatives of political parties shared their feedback, assured cooperation, and agreed to take prompt action. The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and accurate Special Intensive Revision.
