
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 26: The Electoral Roll Observer, A&N Islands has convened a meeting today with representatives of all recognized political parties to overseeing the claims & objections during ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll-2026. The meeting was also attended by AEROs of South Andaman District.
The meeting aimed to ensure transparency, cooperation, and smooth execution of the revision activities as mandated by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The ERO briefed the participants on important dates related to claims and objections, hearing schedule, and final publication of the electoral roll. Further, briefed the activities undertaken during the Enumeration Phase, including verification by BLOs and supervisory checks, were also highlighted along with the roadmap for the notice and hearing phase.
Data on mapped and unmapped electors and status of Forms received after publication of the draft electoral roll on 23.12.2025 were also presented to political party representatives.
Representatives of political parties shared their feedback over the draft electoral roll. The Electoral Roll Observer has assured cooperation, and agreed to take all required action as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and accurate Special Intensive Revision.
