
Sri Vijaya Puram, April 8: In its continued efforts to safeguard Government land from illegal occupation, the Revenue Department of South Andaman carried out a focused eviction operation today at Naushad Colony, Bathubasti under Garacharma village.
During the inspection, fresh unauthorized encroachments in the form of 2 temporary structures and 1 No. of fencing were identified over Govt. land.
Acting promptly, the team mobilized necessary manpower and earth-moving machinery, including a Hitachi unit, to carry out the clearance operation. As a result of the drive, an area measuring approximately 500 Sq. mtrs was successfully cleared and restored to the Government khata. The eviction was carried out in a peaceful and orderly manner, ensuring that the land was freed from encroachment and brought back under the official revenue record.
The District Administration, South Andaman once again reiterates its zero-tolerance policy against encroachment of Government land. Citizens are urged to refrain from occupying public land illegally and are encouraged to cooperate with the authorities in maintaining the integrity of public assets.
