
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 2: The A&N Islands Rural Livelihood Mission (ANIRLM), in collaboration with the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad, successfully concluded a four-day Training Programme on Integrated Farming Clusters (IFC) at Directorate of RD. The programme was aimed at building the capacity of newly recruited staff, block-level functionaries, and Self-Help Group (SHG) members to strengthen integrated and sustainable livelihood models in rural areas. The Valedictory Session was graced by Shri. Rajesh Chopra, IAS, Secretary, Rural Development and Dr. Apurva Sharma, Director, Rural Development.
In his address, the Secretary, Rural Development commended the efforts of ANIRLM and NIRDPR for organizing the programme and emphasized the importance of integrating various livelihood activities under the IFC model to ensure income stability. He encouraged participants to implement the learnings from the training at the grassroots level for the holistic development of rural households.
Over four days, participants were exposed to key aspects of Integrated Farming Clusters, including conceptual frameworks, operational strategies, convergence with other government schemes, and best practices in community-based livelihood interventions. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by the State Programme Manager, ANIRLM, acknowledging the support all stakeholders in making the training a success.
