From Competitiveness to Bonding, Cake Science Brings Home Bakers of Andamans in a Single Platform ‘Cake Picnic’ to Share Ideas and Creativities

Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 12: In an era where baking, especially home baking has become one of the favourite means of part time earning and engaging in creative skills for the ladies of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Cake Science, Andaman led by Shri Shah Imran for the first time ever organised a Cake Picnic, attracting the home bakers in a single platform. The platform was intended to allow the home bakers to come up above competitiveness and share their experiences, ideas and creativity to teach and learn in order to improve themselves.

The first ever Cake Picnic was organised on Oct. 11, 2025 at Bay Leaf Inn, Atlanta Point wherein Smti Rashida Iqbal, renowned Historian & Author and Smti Nalini Nair, Sr. Investigator, Tourism Department were the special guests to judge the creativities.

After a three-hour picnic of sharing and learning from experiences, the best three home bakers were judged based on the presentation, creativity and taste of their home baked cakes. Accordingly, Stephenie Pious emerged as the winner, while Lini Thomas and Simi Sajan were adjudged as the second and third prize winners.

Mr. Shah Imran, the organiser of the picnic event is a dedicated mental health professional and passionate baking enthusiast who beautifully blends the art of psychology with the science of baking. With a deep understanding of human behavior and emotional well-being, he founded Cake Science – Baking and Confectionery Skill Centre, a unique initiative that promotes baking not just as a craft, but as a therapeutic and holistic experience.

By combining his expertise in mental health with his love for baking, Shah Imran has created a nurturing space where emotional wellness, creativity, and entrepreneurship rise together — much like the perfect loaf of bread.

The event was organised in association with Vedhika Foods, a rising star in the Andaman Islands’ culinary landscape, founded and led by Mrs. Hempriya, an inspiring woman entrepreneur. Specializing in the production of premium-quality breads and delightful cakes, Vedhika Foods combines traditional baking techniques with modern innovation.
