Sri Vijaya Puram, April 10: On the occasion of World Homoeopathy Day 2026, a ‘Healthy Baby and Happy Mother Show’ was conducted for the first time at Chowra Island on Apr. 8. The programme was successfully organized by Dr. Shabnam Salim, Medical Officer (Homoeopathy), under the AYUSH Unit of CHC Nancowry and under the supervision of Dr. (Lt. Col.) Nirmal Kumar Bajpayi, Medical Officer (In-charge), CHC Nancowry.
The event featured two categories: 0–1 year and 2–5 years. Winners were awarded cash prizes by the Secretary, Tribal Council, Chowra, Shri Hillary. The winners in the 0–1 year category were 1st Prize – Benjamin Harry, S/o Basil; 2nd Prize – F. N. Crispin Je, S/o Nehemiah; and 3rd Prize – Ivory By V G, D/o Eli. The winners in the 2–5 years category were 1st Prize – Christanus, S/o Chrispanus; 2nd Prize – Jasmine, D/o Joseph and 3rd Prize – Cladysia, D/o Thomas.
Further, an outreach Homoeopathy Health Camp was conducted on 09.04.2026 at Chowra Island for the benefit of the villagers.
