Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 14: In line with the schedule of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), the High Court Legal Services Committee (HCLSC), Circuit Bench of Calcutta High Court at Port Blair, in association with the Andaman and Nicobar State Legal Services Authority, conducted the 4th National Lok Adalat on Dec. 13, 2025 at the Circuit Bench Complex.
The Lok Adalat Bench was headed by the Hon’ble Justice Shampa Dutt (Paul), Judge, High Court at Calcutta, now at Circuit Bench of Calcutta High Court at Port Blair. The Lordship was assisted by Mr. D. Ilango, Learned Advocate, as Member of the Bench.
During the proceedings, the Bench made earnest and sincere efforts to amicably settle the matters listed before it, reflecting the core objectives of Lok Adalats — expeditious, cost-effective, and amicable resolution of disputes. A total of four matters were taken up, out of which three were successfully disposed of by the HCLSC.
This event marks yet another step forward in promoting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and ensuring access to justice for all, especially in the remote regions of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
