Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 26: Rayhaan Pasha, President of Nicobar Youth Association has expressed deep admiration and gratitude to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, for inaugurating the newly established Sagarika Emporium and Tourist-cum-Information Centre in Chennai.
He stated that this remarkable initiative is more than just a cultural showcase, it is a symbol of hope, opportunity, and pride for the people of the Islands. “Under the visionary leadership of the Chief Secretary, the Union Territory has taken a historic step towards connecting our artisans and tribal community with the wider world. By bringing the spirit of the Islands to Chennai, the Administration has created a powerful platform that will encourage artisans to expand production, knowing that they have a secure and trusted market through the A&N Administration,” he added.
Pasha also appreciated the dedicated team of the A&N Administration, acknowledging their tireless efforts and commitment in making this vision a success. “Their hard work reflects the true spirit of service and devotion to the progress of the Islands,” he remarked.
Looking ahead, Pasha suggested that this inspiring model could be further strengthened by establishing similar Emporiums in other metro cities. He emphasized that such initiatives would ensure the unique heritage of the Islands resonates across India, empower tribal craft communities, and position the Andaman & Nicobar Islands as a cultural and tourism destination of national importance.
He concluded by saying, “This initiative has lit a path for generations of artisans, tribals, and entrepreneurs, proving that with the right guidance and vision, even the remotest corners of our country can shine on the national stage.
