Port Blair, June 1: In terms of the provisions contained under Section 135 C of the Representation of the People Act 1951, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District has ordered that 11/06/2023 (Sunday) Date of Poll and 13/06/2023 ((Tuesday) Date of Counting will be observed as ‘Dry Days’ in connection with the ensuing Bye-Election for the Gram Panchayat Member Constituency, Swadesh Nagar-1, Panchayat Samiti Member, Mayabunder under Mayabunder Tehsil, Pradhan Gram Panchayat, Brindaban under Ferrargunj Tehsil and Gram Panchayat Member Constituency Rangat-8 under Rangat Tehsil.

Port Blair, June 1: Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty wind (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on June 2 & 3, 2023. Due to anticipated strong Southwest monsoon current, wind speed is likely to prevail between 40-50 kmph over South Andaman Sea. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into South Andaman Sea from June 2 to 5, 2023.

Port Blair, May 31: A delegation of Andaman Adventure Water Sports Association (AAWSA) led by its President Shri.M.Vinod, Shri.Saikat Biswas and Shri.Anil Meshack met Shri Parshottam Rupala, the Hon'ble Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Govt. of India on 29 May 23.
The delegation discussed various issues concerning Sports Fishing industry in Andamans.

Port Blair, May 31: The Member of Parliament, Siri Kuldeep Rai Sharma chaired the Telecom Advisory Committee meeting held at the BSNL office on May 30, 2023. The meeting held in presence of CGM, BSNL, A&N Telecom Circle and other senior officers of BSNL, served as a platform to discuss and address various pressing matters concerning the A&N Islands’ telecommunications sector.

Port Blair, May 31: The Secretary (RD/Panchayat), Ms. Veditha Reddy, IAS visited North and Middle Andaman District and inspected various sites at Mayabunder and Diglipur Block along with the Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman and his team. On her visit to Diglipur Block on 26th May, 2023, a meeting was conducted with PRI members to discuss about various issues concerning the implementation of the programmes and activities of the Department. During the meeting, the PRIs raised various issues regarding the functioning of the institutions.
