Port Blair, Dec. 12: The Accessible India Campaign (AIC) or Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan was launched for creating universal accessibility for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The App has been developed by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.   It is a crowd sourcing Mobile Application to enable people with disabilities and even the elderly to register accessibility-related problems. The aim of the app is to sensitize and enhance accessibility in the 3 pillars of the Accessible India Campaign which includes the built environment, transportation sector and ICT ecosystem in India.

Port Blair, Dec. 12: The online Re-registration in IGNOU for January 2023 session has started on the Samarth portal. All the learners, who are desirous to register for January 2023 cycle are advised to submit re-registration form through online on or before last date i.e. 31st December 2022. All the learners of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th semester are advised to make semester fees through online: https:// onlinerr.ignou.ac.in/.

MV Campbell Bay will sail for Campbell Bay via Nancowry on 15.12.2022 (Thu) at 1000 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail for Port Blair on 17.12.2022 (Sat) at 0900 Hrs from Campbell Bay via Nancowry. Passenger tickets for the above sailing will be issued to the general public from 13.12.2022 (Tue) onwards at STARS Ticketing Counters.

Port Blair, Dec. 11: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor to issue necessary directions to the Health Department to ensure that all basic medical tests are being conducted in all PHCs & CHCs of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This will make diagnosis easy for Doctors and correct treatment can be given to the patients in every corner of these Islands.
