Port Blair, Nov. 1: Andaman & Nicobar Police observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National unity Day) on 31st October, to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as “Iron Man of India” who played a crucial role in the unification of India.  31st October is observed all over the country as a day of special occasion, to foster and reinforce our dedication to preserve and strengthen the unity, integrity and security of our nation, by celebrating it as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day).

Port Blair, Nov. 1: On the occasion of National Unity Day/ Rastriya Ekta Diwas, which is being celebrated across the country on 31st October to mark the birth anniversary of   Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Iron Man of India, Shri. Madhup Kumar Tiwari, IPS, Director General of Police (I/c), A & N Islands, administered the oath to the staff of Police Headquarters on 31/10/2020 in the presence of the Inspector General of Police and other senior officers. Similar pledges were administered in all the Units &  Police Stations of A&N Islands.

MP Requests Secretary Social Welfare for Enrolment Without Further Delay

Port Blair, Oct. 30: Around 1500 people from North & Middle Andaman District have applied for enrolment in the Social Welfare department to get Widow/Old Age Pension, Destitute and Divyangan allowances. The applications have been kept pending in the department since November 2019. There are many more such cases in the South Andaman and Nicobar Districts respectively which are also pending in the department for enrolment.
