Port Blair, July 14: An awareness programme was organized by the Directorate of RD,PRIs &ULBs, Marine Hill, Port Blair, on 14th July 2022 to sensitize the market place and commercial establishments on Single Use Plastic across all the Gram Panchayats in the UT of Andaman & Nicobar islands to mark the importance of International Plastic Bag Free Day (i.e. 03rd July 2022). 

Port Blair, July 14: Heavy rains (07-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman Islands. Thunder storm and lightning with gusty wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 15th July 2022. Meanwhile thunderstorms and lightning with gusty wind (30-40 kmph) is likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 16th July.   

Port Blair, July 14: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,84,256 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23,596 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years.  24,729 beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years have been administered both doses of vaccine. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 28,411.

Port Blair, July 14: Nine positive cases have been detected today in A&N Islands, of which, 4 were from incoming flight passengers who arrived here yesterday. Today, 10 flights with 1522 passengers arrived, out of which, 1275 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 129 passengers and the reports are awaited.   

Port Blair, July 13: Taking up one of the most crucial issues of remote Islands, the Member of Parliament of Andaman & Nicobar Islands has requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Administration to post Gynecologists at all Community Health Centers of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and also at District Hospital Mayabunder.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that due to the absence of Gynecologists at various Community Health Centers, the expecting mothers are going through tremendous mental agony.
