Port Blair, Sept. 19: As a part of the celebration of International Coastal Clean-up Day, the Zoological Survey of India, Port Blair organized coastal clean-up on 5th & 17th September 2022 and one-day workshop on 6th September 2022 in collaboration with the Vigyan Prasar (VP), Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The aim was to highlight the idea of ‘Clean coast, Safe sea’ for the benefit of the Teachers, Researchers and Students of these Islands. 

Port Blair, Sept. 19: The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman along with Sub-Divisional Magistrate, South Andaman, Tehsildar, Port Blair, Revenue field functionaries, Ward Councillors and villagers conducted inspection of Japan Road area, Dairy Farm under Port Blair Tehsil to ascertain the possibilities of providing approach path connecting Ram Sita Mandir and Japan Road.

Port Blair, Sept. 19: Due to insufficient booking of passenger tickets, the vessel MV Swaraj Dweep which was scheduled to sail from Port Blair to Kolkata on 21.09.2022 and back on 28.09.2022 from Kolkata to Port Blair (under voyage No. 1010 &1011) has been cancelled. Passengers those who have purchased their tickets for the above sailings are hereby informed to cancel their tickets and get full refund from STARS Ticketing Counter.

Inconvenience caused to the passengers is regretted.

I am happy to learn that the UT of A&N Islands has successfully achieved the target of Precautionary dose of COVID-19 vaccine for 18+ population of this Union Territory as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav under Har Ghar Dastak Campaign. Islanders have also completed the full doses of vaccine for 12-14 years and 15-17 years of age groups during the campaign. The target was achieved 15 days in advance before the scheduled completion time under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. It is a matter of immense pride that UT of A&N Islands has become the first State /UT in the whole country to achieve this feat.
