Port Blair, May 9: Cruise Ship ‘Insignia’ carrying 458 tourists arrived at Haddo Wharf from Colombo today morning. The cruise tourists while disembarking from the ship were given a traditional welcome by the staff of IP&T Department in the Passenger Terminal premises at Haddo Wharf. The tourists on board the vessel visited various tourist interest spots in and around the town. They also visited National Memorial Cellular Jail.

Port Blair, May 9: The Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Andaman Ship Owners Association and the Tourism stake-holders of the islands are delighted that the first cruise vessel MV Insignia with 450 passengers called Port Blair today the 9th May 2023. This is the first cruise vessel to call at Port Blair after four long years and we hope that more such vessels will call in the near future and the years to come. The Chamber has thanked the Andaman Administration for their support especially Shri Vinay Bhushan, Secretary, Tourism for having coordinated the entire requirements of the arrival and stay of the vessel and ensuring that the visit went of smoothly with the support of the various wings of the Administration and government viz. Immigration, police, transport, Customs, Port Health, Port Management Board and Andaman & Nicobar Command.
