Port Blair, April 6: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor to schedule a ship from Great Nicobar to Port Blair via all ports of Nicobar District on 26th April 2023 evening.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament added that this will help people who wish to reach Port Blair for vacation and those who want to plan their trip to the mainland to plan their journey well in advance.

Port Blair, April 6: The National Student's Union of India State President, A&N Islands Mr. M.A Sajid on Thursday highlighted the issue of deployment of Government teachers in Clerical posts at Directorate of Education, A&N Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Mr. Sajid said, "Despite a massive shortage of teachers in the government schools of A&N Islands, a huge number of teaching staffs have been deployed as clerks at different sections of Directorate of Education such as SPO, Legal, CCB, Scout and Guide, SI Principal, IT etc. thereby affecting the learning processes of the students studying in government schools".

Port Blair, April 6: The Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman, Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS alongwith AC (MB), GM (NHIDCL) inspected the stretch of NH-4 from Panighat to Thoratang today. During the visit, directions were issued to the Contractor to expedite and complete the construction work of the left out stretch in view of the upcoming monsoon. It was also directed to construct earthen drains along the NH-4 where forest clearance is to be taken, so that water logging issue does not arise in monsoon season and the motorability of the road is maintained.

Port Blair, April 6: Ms. Veditha Reddy, IAS, Secretary RD/Deputy Commissioner (SA) along with Shri Rahul Dev Boora, IAS(P), Shri Rajendar Pal Block Development Officer, C.D.Block Ferrargunj, Officials of Rural Development, A.P.W.D, Forest Department, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Chouldari, Mithakhari, Namunaghar and other PRI members inspected various sites of Amrit Sarowar Projects under the Gram Panchayats Chouldari, Mithakari and Namunaghar today. Total 06 sites for Amrit Sarovar were inspected which included 2 sites of each Gram Panchayat. 

Port Blair, April 6: The Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman along with Up-Adhyaksh, ZPSA, Concern Zilla Parishad Member, Pradhan, Executive Engineer, ZPSA, concern Junior Engineer and Ward Member visited Swaraj Dweep to inspect the ongoing, completed and proposed developmental activities.
