Port Blair, March 17: The written examination of Casual Assignees and Casual Comperer’s (Kisanvani, Mahila Jagat & Bal Jagat) will be held in Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM), Port Blair on 26th March 2023. Individual call letter can be collected from All India Radio, Port Blair from 0900 hrs to 1600 hrs on any working days from 20th to 24th March 2023.

More than 500 Farmers from South, Middle & North Andaman Participate in the Mela

Port Blair, March 17: The Valedictory function of two days Kisan Mela on the theme: Promoting Natural Farming   concluded today on 17th March, 2023.  More than 500 farmers from South, Middle & North Andaman participated in the event.

Dr. E. B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CIARI in his Presidential address expressed his happiness on the successful conduct of the Kisan Mela, wherein during inaugural function dignitaries like Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary, A & N Islands, Ms Nandini Paliwal, IAS, Commissioner cum Secretary and Shri. B. S. Jaglan, IAS, Secretary, Animal Husbandry & Fisheries, A & N Administration during their visit showed keen interest, interacted with farmers and Scientists on potential of agriculture and marketing with Island brand.  He also appreciated the farmer’s participation in large number on both the days which speaks about the credibility of the technology transfer programme of the Institute. He requested all the members of SHGs to be proactive in promotion of products for visibility at mainland.

Port Blair, March 16: The two days ‘Kisan Mela’ on the theme ‘Promoting Natural Farming’ being organised by ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair along with its KVKs got underway with its inauguration by the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS at its Mela ground at Garacharma Research Complex here this morning. The Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Agriculture/Fisheries), Smti Nandini Paliwal, IAS, Secretary (AH&VS/Fisheries), Shri B S Jaglan, IAS and officers/Scientists from CIARI, KVKs and line Departments were also present on the occasion.
