Port Blair, April 20: As a part of the ongoing encroachment eviction drive from Government Revenue Land, the Tehsil Team of South Andaman headed by Revenue Inspectors of the area have removed / cleared the fresh encroachment by way of temporary huts, plantation of arecanut, coconut and banana saplings and fencing. An area of 1000 Sq.mtrs. in Bambooflat and an area of 1500 Sq.mtrs in Caddlegunj were restored to Government.

Port Blair, April 20: During RAT conducted on 35 passengers bound for North & Middle Andaman at Ferrargunj, no positive case has been detected. At Helipad, 6 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected. At Mohanpura Bus Terminus, test was conducted on 32 passengers and no positive case has been detected. At Phoenix Bay Jetty, 21 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected.

DIPT Develops Portal 'Million Photographs of Andaman'

Port Blair, April 19: With an objective to provide a platform to people, tourists, Islanders and others, for sharing beautiful photos of the A&N Islands, the Directorate of IP&T has developed and hosted a portal 'Million Photographs of Andaman' with the url https://www.andamantourism.gov. in/million. This effort of the Tourism Department will enable the Andaman Tourism reach far and wide and the A&N Islands get a further boost as a favourite tourism destination across the globe. It is aimed to have 1 million photos of the Islands in this portal within a year.

Port Blair, April 20: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,6,7934 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,409 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 10,966 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 16,679. 

Port Blair, April 19: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to direct the concerned departments to install Rubber Synthetic Court Mat over the Badminton court of Vivekananda Stadium’s Multipurpose Hall at Diglipur.
