Port Blair, June 1: Commodore M Rajkumar assumed command of Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY), Port Blair on 31 May 23, from Commodore R Vaidhyanathan. He was commissioned in the Indian Navy on 26 Nov 1994 and has held numerous significant afloat and ashore appointments throughout his illustrious career. Before assuming his present appointment, Commodore M Rajkumar served as the Officer in Charge at SOT (Severodvinsk) in Russia. He brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.

Port Blair, June 1: All LPG consumers and the authorized LPG distributors of this UT Have been informed that as per the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 framed under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, it is mandatory for all authorized LPG distributors to provide to their delivery man a check weigher or non-automatic weighing instrument to measure or weigh the quantity of the LPG cylinder at the time of delivery.

Port Blair, June 1: Thunderstorm   with   lightning   accompanied   with   gusty   wind (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on June 2 & 3, 2023.  Due to anticipated strong Southwest monsoon current, wind speed is likely to prevail between 40-50 kmph over South Andaman Sea. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into South Andaman Sea from June 2 to 5, 2023.
