Port Blair, June 8: In a bid to promote eye health and raise awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups, Humane Touch, in association with Eyecone Clinic, organized a free eye awareness and screening camp. The event was fully supported by the Pradhan Gram Panchayat Wimberly Gunj and Kanyapuram. The camp aimed to provide accessible eye care services to the local community and educate them about the significance of maintaining good eye health.

Port Blair, June 8: Heavy rain (07-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands. Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty wind (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) is also likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on June 9, 10 & 11. Due to strong Southwest monsoon current, wind speed is likely to prevail between 40-50 kmph over Andaman Sea, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the Sea till June 12, 2023.

Port Blair, June 8: Due to heavy rains in Port Blair, the outdoor breakers installed in Garacharma Sub-Station have developed insulation failure issues, which needs to be attended on top priority by taking complete shutdown of feeders emanating from Garacharma Sub-Station, for safety of staff and equipments. The above mentioned work is scheduled to be undertaken on 10.06.2023.

Port Blair, June 8: The District Legal Services Authority, Andaman & Nicobar Islands will be holding National Lok Adalat in the District Court Complex at Port Blair and Sub-Divisional Court Complex at Mayabunder and Circuit Court at Diglipur on 17.06.2023 by adopting all COVID SOP issued by the MHA from time to time. Besides the compoundable nature of cases pending in different courts, disputes at the pre-litigation stage will also be entertained by the National Lok Adalat for disposal upon consensual settlement between the parties. Pre-litigation disputes include NI Act cases u/s 138, Money recovery cases, Labour dispute cases Electricity and water bill cases (excluding non-compoundable), Maintenance cases Civil disputes and Disputes under the Consumer Protection Act.
