Port Blair, June 7: The brave fire fighters of A&N Police Fire Service proved their mettle once again and carried out a fire fighting operation. On 05th June, 2022 at about 1852 hours a fire call message was received at Fire Control Room stating that the fire broke out in a Semi-RCC residential building located near Ananda Marga School, Junglighat. Immediately Water Tender & Water Bouzer from Fire Station Aberdeen was pressed into the scene of fire. On reaching the spot, it was noticed that massive blaze with dense smoke was emanating from the semi RCC building consisting G + 2. The fire broke out in a first floor & spread to the second floor requiring additional Fire Vehicles from nearby station. 

Port Blair, June 7: During the recent visit of Gen. Dr. V K Singh, MoS for MoRTH and Civil Aviation, Shri Ajoy Bairagi, State President BJP highlighted the important and vital issues of A&N Islands. He raised the most important issue pertaining to Islands with the construction of NH-4 which is troubling the general public while traveling towards North and Middle Andaman. He also requested the Minister for earliest completion of Bridge at Middle Strait, which will ensure seamless connectivity between South, Middle and North Andaman. 

Port Blair, June 7: Shri Ajoy Bairagi, State President BJP, A&N Islands has raised important issues related to Aviation Sector with Gen V K Singh, MoS for MoRTH and Civil Aviation during his recent visit to Islands.

He discussed issues of Upgradation of Runway, where it is learnt that soon after monsoons runways will again be shut down for few days for upgradation. He requested the Minister to direct the concerned authority to take this work with minimum curtailment of runway.

Port Blair, June 7: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,82,012 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23,545 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 12,762 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 25782.
