Port Blair, March 23: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to issue necessary directives to the APWD to carry out the works of extension, upgradation and repair of roads in Swaraj Dweep at the earliest to facilitate the commuters. The works include:
Extension of black top road for a length of 800 mtrs from the existing road already constructed upto Fire Station in Swarj Dweep.

Port Blair, March 23: The Swaraj Dweep Islands known for its breath taking sunsets and turquoise blue waters with beautiful white sandy beaches, rich coral reefs and forest enjoys the well-deserved reputation of being a traveller’s paradise.
To give an aesthetic view to the most famous location of Asian Continent having a Blue Flag certified beach, the District Administration’s initiative of “PROJECT BLUE” is gaining popularity. Blue Flag beach is an eco-tourism model endeavouring to provide sustainable infrastructure for the tourists visiting Swaraj Dweep. The project aims to beautify the whole length along the road side in first phase of the project, covering a stretch of 2-3 kms.

Port Blair, March 23: The Employees of Social Welfare Department will be starting Indefinite agitation under the banner of Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands from tomorrow (24.03.2021) in front of Directorate of Social Welfare in protest against the non-payment of salary/honorarium to ICDS employees and Anganwadi Workers for the past 07 months.

Port Blair, March 23: The Andaman Nicobar UT and TRIFED singed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) a special signing ceremony organized at the Tribal Development Coop. Society Ltd. in Port Blair on 22nd March 2021.
The major thrust of the MoU is to promote the socio- economic development of the tribal people. As we know the tribes of A&N Islands are very rare and primitive and live a hilarious life. Signing the PMVDY Yojana in A&N Island will give the chance to betterment their lifestyle from all aspects.
