Port Blair, Sept. 18: The Directorate of RD, PRIs and ULBs, Andaman & Nicobar Administration held a meeting cum orientation programme with Heads of Departments of line departments, District, Block and GP level Officers/officials under the chairmanship of Ms. Veditha Reddy, IAS, Secretary (RD/Panchayat) to discuss and deliberate on the UT Action Plan for the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. The programme was also attended by Elected Representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions.

Port Blair, Sept. 18: A meeting was held in the District Office under the chairmanship of Smti Veditha Reddy, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (SA) with officials of line departments regarding arrangements being made for the ensuing Ganesh Chathurthi celebrations. Officials from line departments comprising A&N Police, Port Management Board, Police Marine Force, APWD, Health Services, Electricity Department and Tourism attended the said meeting.

Port Blair, Sept. 18: One seat from B.Sc.B.Ed. Mathematics under Category-I has fallen vacant in Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair.

The counseling for admission to this vacant seat will be held on 20th September 2023 at 9:30 a.m. in the College. All eligible candidates who are desirous for taking admission to this course are requested to attend the counselling on the date and time mentioned above. Selected candidate will have to submit all the original certificates along with one set of photostat copies of all original certificates and requisite amount of fees on the day of admission failing which they will not be considered for admission.

British Deputy High Commissioner Responds to Member of Parliament’s Request

Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament has expressed gratitude to Mr. Nicholas Low, the British Deputy High Commissioner for his positive response on providing opportunity to the Islands’ students to pursue higher education in the United Kingdom on fully funded scholarship basis. Referring to the discussion held with Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma on 07.09.2023 at Port Blair, the British Deputy High Commissioner has responded through his tweet dated 08.09.2023 stating "We want a UK Government Chevening Scholar from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in 2024.”
