I am glad to learn that "National Press Day" is being observed on 16th November, 2023 in Andaman and Nicobar Islands along with the rest of the country. This was the day on which Press Council of India started functioning as a moral watchdog to ensure that not only did the press maintain the high standards expected from this powerful medium but also that it was not fettered by the influence or threats of any extraneous factors. The theme for this year's celebration is 'Media in the Era of Artificial Intelligence'.
