Port Blair, Aug. 22: Applications/ Nominations have been invited for National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities for the year 2021, as also for the year 2022 separately through online mode only on the centralized portal of Ministry of Home Affairs (www.awards.gov.in) which is open w.e.f. 15th July, 2022 to 28th August, 2022. Applications in physical form will not be accepted for these National Awards.

Port Blair, Aug. 22: The Government of India has been implementing Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) with the objectives to generate employment opportunities in rural as well as urban areas through setting up of new self-employment ventures, projects and micro enterprises. The purpose of the Scheme is for setting up of eligible viable activities under scheme. The nature of credit facility is term loan & cash credit facility only for new projects sanctioned specifically under the scheme.

Port Blair, Aug. 22: Vidyanjali 2.0, (a school volunteer programme) an initiative of Ministry of Education aims to enhance the quality of school education through community and volunteers’ participation by allowing them to connect directly with the Government and Government aided schools and share their knowledge and skills as well as to contribute in the forms of assets/materials/equipments.

Port Blair, Aug. 23: A Beach Cleanliness Drive was conducted today morning at Shoal Bay-19, South Andaman. The Cleanliness Drive was led by Secretary (IP&T) Shri. Hari Kallikkat, IAS. The Gram Pradhans of Kanyapuram, Shoal Bay and PRI members alongwith general public enthusiastically took part in the drive.
