Port Blair, April 6: During RAT conducted on 15 passengers bound for North & Middle Andaman at Ferrargunj, no positive case has been detected. At Mohanpura Bus Terminus, test was conducted on 28 passengers, no positive case has been detected.  At Phoenix Bay Jetty, 21 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected. At helipad, 7 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected.

Port Blair, April 6: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,11,376 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,373 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 10,158 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 11,970.

Port Blair, April 5: The shooting of Netflix Web Series titled “Kaala Paani” is schedule between 10th April to 31st May 2022 in the Andaman Islands.  The Web Series is being directed by Sameer Saxena & Amit Golani with Keval Shah of Production Scope in Mumbai. The shooting will be for a duration of 40 days and will be done in places like Swaraj Dweep, Munda Pahad /Chidiya Tapu, Netaji Stadium, Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya, Girls Senior Secondary School, Haddo Wharf, Collinpur Beach, Corbyn’s Cove and surrounding areas of Kala Pathar Beach in Swaraj Dweep.

Port Blair, April 5: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to set up one Gym in every ward of Port Blair Municipal Council and every Gram Panchayat of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, so that youths remain actively focus on health and constructive activities.

He also requested the Lt. Governor to order inspection of currently operational Gyms in many wards and Panchayats and upgrade the Gyms with latest fitness equipment.

Port Blair, April 5: The State General Secretary, National Students Union of India, Shri. Saurav Nair on Tuesday demanded for conducting Campus Interviews, Job Fairs and providing free Wi-fi in all Colleges of A&N Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Hon'ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Nair stated that there are nine government colleges functioning in Andaman & Nicobar Islands but no Campus Interviews are conducted in the said 9 colleges, which hampers the job opportunity of Islander students.
