Port Blair, Sept. 20: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to name three important roads on the brave martyrs of these Islands Viz. Martyr Captain Ashim Kumar Bhattacharjee, Martyr Ramesh Singh and Martyr M. Dilli Rao.

Port Blair, Sept. 20: The Centre of Indian Trade Unions, Andaman & Nicobar State Committee organized a Mass Dharna, Procession and Public meeting today (20.09.2022) at Tiranga Park, Port Blair, to protest against various anti-working class policies of the central government and Andaman & Nicobar Administration.  The mass dharna was held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. which was followed by a mass procession from Tiranga Park and concluded at the same venue which converged into a public meeting.

Port Blair, Sept 20: The Secretary (Agri), A&N Administration, Shri Pankaj Kumar, IAS inaugurated a four days off Campus training programme on ‘Waste Management in Agri.& Allied Sectors’ for the officers of Agriculture and allied Departments of A&N Islands today in the Conference Hall of Directorate of Agriculture, Haddo. The programme is being organized by Extension Education Institute, PJTSU, Hyderabad in association with Department of Agriculture, A&N Administration.

Car Nicobar, Sept 20: In a major crackdown against bootlegging activities and menace of illicit liquor, on 20/09/22 a team of PS Nancowrie comprising of SI Sunil Yadav (IRBn), HCs Malati Devi & N. Mahesh (IRBn), PCs R.K. Halder, Arun Xaxa, Mamata Paul, Sita Devi, Reba Mazumdar, Anthony, Cts (IRBn) Ranjit Bachar, Madan Kerkatta, Mohd Sharif. K. Srinivas Rao, P. Giri Babu and HG (V) Polinus under the supervision of SI Mohan Rao, SHO PS Nancowrie launched an exhaustive combing and search operation in jungles of Chota Enaka, Nancowrie. The said operation was carried out in the wee hours of Tuesday. In this the operation, Police trekked deep inside the forest and recovered around 1400 liters of fermented wash.

Port Blair, Sept. 20: Keeping in view the forthcoming festive seasons starting from the month of October and in view of the constraints, safety aspects, cleanliness of business premises and also to prevent import and sale of banned fireworks, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS held a meeting with all the stakeholders for retails sale of crackers.
