Port Blair, Sept. 20: A beach cleanliness drive was conducted this morning at Sitapur Beach, Shaheed Dweep. The drive was led by the In-Charge, Hawabill Nest Yatri Niwas, IP&T, Shri M Madhavan. The Pramukh, Gram Panchayat, Shaheed Dweep, Smt. Champa Das, Police personnel, Revenue Department and Life Guards, participated in the drive. Eight gunny bags of garbage containing plastic bottles, wrappers, glass bottles were collected during the drive and the same was transported through the Panchayat to the Dumping Yard of Shaheed Dweep.

Port Blair, Sept. 20: Two positive case have been detected today in A&N Islands from incoming flight passengers who arrived here yesterday. Today, 2 flights with 1842 passengers arrived, out of which, 1688 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 124 passengers and the reports are awaited.  

Port Blair, Sept. 19: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to conduct assessment of damages to crops and release of compensation for the families of Middle Andaman, who have suffered loss of property and crop due to heavy rain yesterday.

Port Blair, Sept. 19: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS arrived at Diglipur this morning on a four-day visit to North & Middle Andaman District. On arrival at the V.S Pally Helipad, the Chief Secretary was accorded a warm welcome by the Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman, Dr. Satyendra Singh Dursawat. The Adhyaksha Zila Parishad, North & Middle Andaman, Ms Elizabeth, Up-Pramukh, Shri Mahadev Gain, PRI members, senior officers of A&N Administration, Heads of Department of North & Middle Andaman and others were also present.

Port Blair, Sept. 19: Nakshatra Garden is based on the theme of astrology which includes a variety of plants and tress linked to the zodiac signs and stars. To promote the concept of the agro-eco-tourism and conservation of the environment, ICAR-CIARI has established a Nakshatra Garden at its Garacharma Research Farm today.
