Port Blair, April 26: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to assign staffs from DRC Chennai and DRC Kolkata to attend patients from Andaman & Nicobar Islands in Mainland Hospital, so that patients can get benefit and right treatment, under the Government of India’s flagship programme, Ayushman Bharat.  “If necessary some more staffs may be posted to DRC Chennai and DRC Kolkata to handle these cases,” he added.

Port Blair, April 26: Congress workers of Port Blair today jostled to have a glimpse of their senior party leader Late. Shri. R.V. Reddy as his body was brought to the party headquarters on Wednesday morning at 11:30 am.

Shri. R.V Reddy passed away on Tuesday morning at Chennai following a heart attack. He has served the Congress Party through various posts such as State President Youth Congress, District President, AICC Member and so on.

Port Blair, April 26: Shri Arjun Munda, Hon'ble Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, GoI will be arriving on a 4 days visit to A&N Islands tomorrow (April 27). On arrival, Hon'ble Union Minister will visit Anthropological Museum. He will hold meeting with Chief Secretary & Senior Officer of A&N Administration in the conference hall of Secretariat. Hon'ble Union Minister will also witness Light & Sound Show at National Memorial Cellular Jail on April 27.

Jamshedpur, April 26: An informative tour and interactive discussion was organized by the Tata Motors team for the delegates from Andaman Nicobar Islands, currently on visit to NIT Jamshedpur, Jharkhand as part of the ‘Yuva Sangam Phase-2 under ‘Ek Bharath Shreshtha Bharath’ (EBSB) programme. A visual presentation was made before the students and faculty members from A&N Islands followed by interactive session with the students by the PRO of Tata Motors. Thereafter, the team visited the assembly line of the commercial and combat vehicles.

Port Blair, April 26: About 37 students participated in a painting session organized by INTACH on World Book Day. The session was held at Govt. Middle School, Dignabad.

Children were shown a compendium of geoheritage sites of the Islands by Samhita Veda Acharya, Convenor, INTACH A&N Chapter.  The children also had an interactive session with Ebi Mathew and Sibi Mathew, Volunteers of INTACH. They were fascinated with marine life depicted in the books that were donated by INTACH.
