Port Blair, Nov. 6: The Ministry of Minority Affairs, GoI is implementing the Central Sector Scheme- Seekho Aur Kamao (Learn& Earn) for Skill Development of Minorities. The scheme aims at upgrading the skills of the minority youth in various modern/traditional vocations depending upon their educational qualification, present economic trends and the market potential, which can earn them a suitable employment or make them suitably skilled to go for self-employment. The scheme is implemented through selected expert Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs). It ensures placement of minimum 75% trainees, out of which at least 50% placement is in organized sector.

Port Blair, Nov. 6: Since the launch of the ‘Andaman and Nicobar Startup and Innovation Policy’ by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 30th December, 2018, the UT of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has made significant strides in its Startup System, generating a noteworthy number of startups encompassing all sectors including IT, E- Commerce, Fisheries, Agriculture, Internet of things and Tour and Travels among others. The Directorate of Industries, A&N Administration in the capacity of the Nodal Department of Startup India scheme in the Islands is committed to the growth and nurture of the Startups and development of a strong and vibrant Startup Ecosystem in the Islands.
