Port Blair, July 8: Preparations are in full swing for the conduct of ‘Monsoon Tourism Festival-2024’ at Corbyn’s Cove. The Tourism Department in collaboration with all line Departments and all leading Tourism stakeholders of A&N Islands will be organizing ‘Monsoon Tourism Festival-2024’ with the tagline #rhythmoftherains. The Festival will begin with a Road Show on 12th July, 2024 and the celebrations will continue on 13th & 14th July, 2024 at Corbyn’s Cove from 3 pm to 9 pm. The Monsoon Tourism Festival is organized every year in mid-July with the aim of promoting ‘Andaman’ as 365 days tourist destination for all.

Kadamtala, July 8: On 06/07/2024, Shri. Kunja Mistry S/o Late Manoranjan Mistry (72) Yrs R/o Bhakta Road Kadamtala, lodged a missing report of his son at PS Kadamtala. He reported that on 03/07/2024 his elder son namely Keshav Mistry alongwith his friends James Xaxa and Kuldeep Hemron went to Jungle Nallah for fishing and later on 04/07/2024 evening hours his friends came back but his son did not return. Despite his exhaustive efforts to locate his son, he remained missing.

Port Blair, July 8: There are 21 schools of studies in IGNOU Headquarters, New Delhi and one of them is School of Foreign Languages (SOFL). Presently, School of Foreign Language offers academic programmes in the following nine foreign languages, viz. Arabic, French, Persian, Mandarin (Chinese), Russian, German, Spanish, Japanese and Korean. These innovative, flexible, and cost-effective foreign language academic programmes are delivered through Online mode.

Port Blair, July 8: The Zonal Agriculture Office, Car Nicobar in association with Industries Department conducted a five days training programme from July 3 to 8, 2024 on ‘Manufacturing of Bee Hive Boxes’ at the Carpentry Section of Industries Training Centre, Big Lapathy, Car Nicobar. The training was attended by the farmer and staff of Agriculture Department with the aim to motivate the farmers towards bee keeping and also for skill development of the farmers as well as departmental staff for attaining self sufficiency in making bee hive boxes.

Port Blair, July 8: The course wise/discipline wise provisional merit list of all the eligible candidates of A & N Islands who have applied for nominations against the seats reserved in various Professional/Technical/Non-Technical Courses except B.Sc. B.Ed course at mainland Institutions/Colleges for the academic session 2024-25 will be displayed in the Common College Admission Portal i.e.  http://collegeadmission.andman.gov.in for inspection of all concerned from 09.07.2024 onwards for submission of claims/ objections thereto if any, from the candidates.
