Port Blair, Aug 30: The President, Inner Wheel Club of Port Blair Mrs. Komal Anand along with her team members took an initiative to donate 22 mattresses with mattress protectors for charity in a small function at Chinmaya Mission which was attended by the Secretary Social Welfare, A&N Administration Ms. Geetika Sharma. Out of the 22, twelve were donated to the old age home at Ferrargunj on 28th August 2020.

Port Blair, Aug 28: The Deputy Commissioner (SA), Shri Suneel Anchipaka, SP (SA) alongwith Chairman, PBMC, Adhyaksh, ZP (SA) and Ward Councilors and other Officers of the District Administration made visit to various market locations in and around Port Blair area to create awareness among the public and vendors in its bid to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Port Blair, Aug 30: To help fight the COVID Pandemic, the Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry with the A&N Administration has completed a 200 bedded COVID Facility centre at JNRM and Girls School Auditorium. The formal handing over of the facility will be done on Monday 31st Aug 2020 at 4.00 pm in the presence of the Secretary (Health) and the Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman).

Port Blair, Aug 28: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Education), A&N Administration for early consideration of the matters which have already been taken up by him with regard to re-engagement of 256 Short Term Contract Teachers and also Part Time employees i.e. Pre-Primary Teachers, Craft Instructors, Attendants and Ayasare in the education department whose term of engagement ended on 30.04.2020 and 16th May, 2020 respectively.
