Port Blair, Mar. 25: During RAT conducted on 54 passengers bound for North & Middle Andaman at Ferrargunj, no positive case has been detected. At Mohanpura Bus Terminus, test was conducted on 22passengers, no positive case has been detected. At Phoenix Bay Jetty, 54 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected. At helipad, 10passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected. RT-PCR test was conducted on 34 crew members of MV Campbell-bay, the reports of which are awaited.

Car Nicobar, March 23: The patient named Henry was admitted to hospital with complaints of severe pain in the lower abdomen since past one week. Upon examination it was detected that there was a mass in the lower abdomen and right side absent testis. Ultrasound showed a vascular mass of size 8* 10cm in the suprapubic region.

The patient was immediately taken up for surgery on 12th of March and on opening the abdomen it was found to be a suspected seminoma of the right sided testis, which had undergone twisting on itself 2 times (torsion) and vascular in nature.

Port Blair, March 23: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma on Tuesday (22-03-2022) during the budget session of Parliament raised demands concerning the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary constituency during the discussion on Demand for Grants concerning the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

He mentioned that Tourism is one of the sectors which is most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, impacting economies, livelihoods, public services and opportunities. Andaman & Nicobar Islands is an important hub for strong ties with East Asian countries and other sea-related countries under the Act-East Policy. A&N Islands provide an additional strategic outreach towards India’s interests in the Indian Ocean Region.

Port Blair, March 23: South Andaman District Police in its efforts to curb the menace of rash and dangerous driving during night time especially the heavy vehicle trucks in Port Blair area, a special checking was carried out at various places of Port Blair area.

In order to prevent rash and negligent driving and to tackle the menace of illegal transportation of construction materials, District Police conducted a special checking drive on the intervening night of 22 & 23/03/2022 at different strategic locations under the jurisdictions of PS Aberdeen, Chatham & Pahargaon by placing barricades and special nakas. During checking, a total of 90 vehicles were checked and 06 vehicles were challaned for improper documentation as per law.
