Port Blair, March 23: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,09,452beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,276 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18yrs and 2821beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 9684.

Port Blair, March 23: During RAT conducted on 43passengers bound for North & Middle Andaman at Ferrargunj, no positive case has been detected. At Mohanpura Bus Terminus, test was conducted on 20passengers, no positive case has been detected. At Phoenix Bay Jetty, 52 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected. At helipad, 11passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected.

Port Blair, March 22: A team of intervention cardiology unit of ANIIMS has successfully implanted the first permanent pacemaker in the recently installed cardiac Cath lab at GB Pant hospital. The Health department procured the permanent pacemakers on emergency basis during this inclement weather conditions for two patients of complete heart block.

Demands Expediting the Projects for Development of A&N Islands

Port Blair, March 22: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma on Monday (21-03-2022) during the budget session of Parliament raised demands for Grants concerning the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. The MP had put forth the following demands before the Ministry:

The Administration triggered its Machineries towards preparedness for combating the approach of bad weather in A & N Islands. The Directorate of Disaster Management geared up all the machineries and circulated Hydrometeorological Disaster Plan, Disaster Response Plan, Preparedness action plan for pre & Post Monsoon prepared and Advisories on Monsoon Preparedness for Cyclone, Heavy Rain, Water Logging etc. and also, Dos and Don’ts on Flood, Cyclone and Lightening Safety issued to electronic & print media and social media viz: Twitter (@ddmani4), Instagram (disastermgtani), Facebook and Koo App for public awareness.
