Port Blair, June 20: In a vibrant display of unity and commitment, the Andaman & Nicobar Police organized a captivating motorcycle rally to commemorate the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The event, flagged off by the Sh. Sanjay Tyagi, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Intelligence), brought together police personnel from various units of A&N Police to raise awareness against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY ON 21ST JUNE 2024

Yoga symbolizes the universal aspiration for attaining good health and well-being. It represents a state of equilibrium and has been an integral part of our lifestyle since ancient times. By combining mental and physical disciplines, yoga helps maintain the body's flexibility through various postures. The Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, in collaboration with experts, has developed the "Common Yoga Protocol" (CYP) to ensure uniformity and harmony during the International Day of Yoga. The CYP includes daily yoga practices aimed at raising awareness about achieving peace, harmony, and well-being through yoga techniques such as Yoga Nidra, Pranayama, and Dhyan. The Ministry has also created and publicized digital resources like CYP videos, the Namaste Yoga App, the Y-Break App, the Yoga Calendar, and the Yoga Dictionary for public use.

Port Blair, June 20: The officers/officials from Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism will be visiting Shaheed Dweep on June 25, 2024 to verify/scrutinize the documents of local Snorkel Guides, those who have valid certificates (i.e. Snorkel Guide Certificate, Life Saving Techniques Certificates, Medical Fitness Certificate, Aadhaar Card, etc). After due verification of the documents, the documents along with applications will be collected by the officers/officials for obtaining necessary approval of the competent authority for enrolling them with Directorate of IP&T.

Sponsored schemes and programmes implemented by Department of Industries and other line Departments such as Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Banks.

The programme will be organized in association with Tribal Council, NYK, Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, SBI, ANSCB and NGOs. The Programme is scheduled to be held tentatively from the 3rd week of June, 2024 onwards at different parts of Nancowry Group of Islands viz. Kamorta, Katchal, Teressa, Chowra etc.
