Port Blair, April 8: The Department of Education, A&N Administration intends to beautify its school campuses by painting exterior/boundary walls of schools with attractive painting on the themes ‘History of Andaman, Flora, Fauna, Marine Life, Art, Culture, Anthropology’ etc. with educational value. With this endeavour, the Department intends to make schools an attraction for tourists visiting the Islands. Eleven Schools will be selected for School Tourism where children from other schools will come for picnics and tourist facilities will be made around the school campus and will be touted as the best & beautiful schools of A&N Islands.

Port Blair, April 8: Under the guidance of the Chief Secretary, the Secretary (RD/Panch.) and the Director (RD/Panch.), the Directorate of RD, PRIs and ULBs, A&N Administration organized a two day State Level Seminar-cum-Camp on GeM/e-Tender Registration for SHGs of DAY-NRLM and of Social Welfare Dept. in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Welfare, A&N Administration and with the technical support of SOVTECH in the training hall of Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs on 07th April, 2022 and at C.D. Blocks Mayabunder, Diglipur, Rangat, Little Andaman, Campbell Bay, Nicobar and Nancowry on 08th April, 2022 wherein State Officers participated through Video Conference.

Port Blair, April 8: Former State President, BJP, Shri Vishal Jolly today met the Secretary-RD, PRIs & ULBs, Shri. Suneel Anchipaka and elaborately raised the issue of difficulties being faced by the restored Panchayat Samitis.

Port Blair, April 8: The Pradhan, Mitha Khari Gram Panchayat, Shri  Mohd. Shafiq along with Shri T. Mohd. Rafiq, Panchayat Samiti Member and the officials of APWD on Thursday visited Mitha Khari Bada Nallah to inspect the source for water project development. The Pradhan requested the officials for de-silting the nallah, construction of a check dam and installation of a pump house. The team also visited the water treatment plant at Mithakhari and urged the officials to formally inaugurate the plant.

Port Blair, April 8: The vessel MV Kalighat will sail for Diglipur via Mayabunder on 12.04.2022 (Tue) at 2100 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail back to Port Blair on 13.04.2022 (Wed) at 1400 Hrs from Diglipur via Mayabunder.  Passenger tickets for the above sailing will be issued from 11.04.2022 onwards at Stars Ticketing Counters.
