Port Blair, June 12: Many vehicle owners in A&N Islands are using dazzling /powerful or intense lighting their vehicles. The section 111 (4) ANMVR prohibits the usage of dazzling /powerful or intense light at all times, when the lights of the motor vehicle are in use. In addition, it has also been found that most of the vehicles are not equipped with rear view mirror. As per section 125 (2) CMVR, 1989 all the motor vehicles shall be equipped with rear view mirror.

Port Blair, June 12: A meeting of District Planning Committee for South Andaman will be held in the Conference Hall of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman on June 16, 17 & 18, 2020 to deliberate upon the District wise 3-Year Annual Action Plan (2020-21 to 2022-23) proposals formulated by Govt. Department under A&N Administration, Panchayati Raj Institution and Urban Local Bodies in South Andaman District (including Campbell Bay revenue areas).

Port Blair, June 11: The meeting of Telecom Advisory Committee, Andaman & Nicobar Circle under the Chairmanship of Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands was held on 10.06.2020 at the conference Hall of BSNL, Bhavan, Port Blair.  In the meeting, Chief General Manager and other senior officials of A&N Telecom Circle was present.  During meeting, the Member of Parliament being a chairman has put many suggestions in the larger interest of the Islanders for overall development in the Information Technology in these Islands:

Andaman & Nicobar Police Study Circle Conducts 12th Discussion on Policing

Port Blair, June 11: The Andaman & Nicobar Police has been proactively initiating many projects/programmes in order to make Policing effective, professional and efficient. Subsequently, Andaman & Nicobar Police has taken a step forward and initiated a Police Study Circle (PSC) program, which is a research and analysis circle that focuses on critical issues in policing. PSC explores best practices on fundamental issues such as developing community policing, problem-oriented policing, using technologies to deliver better Police services to the community and evaluating crime reduction strategies. So far, 11 discussions were conducted on various topics which were chaired or moderated by the High Court Judges, Chairperson NCW, Additional Director (IB), Joint Secretary (Cabinet Secretariat) & other eminent personalities.

Port Blair, June 10: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has taken up the matter connected with GST compliance by the assesses of Andaman & Nicobar Islands with the Union Finance Minister of India. Kuldeep said that due to poor and interrupted internet connectivity in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the assesses of these Islands are not able to comply with various GST return filing compliances within the stipulated time.  Therefore keeping in view of difficulties being faced by the assesses, he requested the Finance Minister to consider for the following relief(s):-
