Port Blair, Oct. 11: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to arrange to supply 24 hour electricity in Hanspuri area of North & Middle Andaman. The Member of Parliament has also suggested setting up a powerhouse for the region.

Port Blair, Oct. 11: Andaman & Nicobar Islands’ young chess players viz. A Chirag Kumar a class VII student of NCS Port Blair and Chittiboina Mageswari, a class VII student of GMSSS Port Blair have secured fifth position in Under 13 Category in the 1^st Fire Chess School All India FIDE Open Rapid Chess Tournament held at Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex indoor stadium Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh from 08.10.2022 to 09.10.2022.

Port Blair, Oct. 11: The A&N Island contingent today added one more medal in its medal tally when Star Kayak from these Islands, Ms. Rajina Kiro won bronze medal in the ongoing 36^th National Games-2022 at Gujarat/New Delhi. Rajina Kiro won Bronze medal in the 200 mtrs Kayaking-1.

Port Blair, Oct. 11: A MoE approved, One Day District Level Awareness and Sensitization Workshop on Safe and Secure Transport Facilities for School Children was organized by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights at the TGCE Auditorium, Port Blair for the South Andaman District. The workshop was organised in coordination with the Department of education, A&N Islands.
