Port Blair, Nov. 14: The 42nd Edition of India International Trade Fair has come alive on November 14, 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, marking the commencement of a two week-long extravaganza, showcasing the best of global trade and commerce on the theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam- United by Trade’ which emphasizes Global Unity through Commerce. The event is being participated by 28 States and Union Territories including Andaman & Nicobar Islands on the promise and vibrant display of diversity and business acumen until November 27, 2023.

Port Blair, Nov. 14: Port Blair city witnessed 02 major Fire incidents on 12.11.2023.  The First incident occurred at Phoenix Bay storage godown at 1902 hrs. involving blast of Acetylene, Ferron, and LPG Cylinders, which rapidly spread to the adjacent wooden structure dwelling house.

07 Fire tenders, 01 Bouser and 01 Foam Tender from Fire Station Aberdeen, Chatham, Marine, Haddo Wharf, and Garacharma were promptly rushed to the spot and pressed into service to douse the flames.

Port Blair, Nov. 14: The Andaman Mopla Service Organisation (AMSO) has made an appeal to the Director General of Police to augment human and other required resources in the A&N Fire Department.

In a letter to the Director General of Police, AMSO General Secretary, Shri Abdul Siddique invited the attention of the DGP to the recent major fire incidents that occurred in the Capital city - Port Blair - at two locations, i.e. Phoenix Bay and Dairy Farm in the late evening hours on 12.11.2023.

Keeping sharp vigil over the antisocial activities under the jurisdiction, acting on a tip-off, on 14/11/2023 a dedicated team from PS Diglipur led by Inspr. K.Binoj, SHO PS Diglipur, HC Santosh Kr. Nair, PCs Abubacker Siddique, Devsai Toppo, Radhesham Hawlader, Soma Dey, Mirthunjoy Das & Ct Pawan Singh along with independent witnesses reached near Mourice Tikrey and hid themselves.

Port Blair, Nov. 14: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has highlighted a pressing matter concerning the healthcare facilities in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, specifically in AYUSH Hospital and GB Pant Hospital.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Shri. Halder said that the patients in AYUSH Hospital, particularly those in need of physiotherapy, are facing challenges as the essential physiotherapy supplies & equipment are not being provided to the patients in the Hospital.
