Port Blair, May 31: The Member of Parliament, Siri Kuldeep Rai Sharma chaired the Telecom Advisory Committee meeting held at the BSNL office on May 30, 2023. The meeting held in presence of CGM, BSNL, A&N Telecom Circle and other senior officers of BSNL, served as a platform to discuss and address various pressing matters concerning the A&N Islands’ telecommunications sector.

Port Blair, May 31: A delegation of Andaman Adventure Water Sports Association (AAWSA) led by its President Shri.M.Vinod, Shri.Saikat Biswas and Shri.Anil Meshack met Shri Parshottam Rupala, the Hon'ble Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Govt. of India on 29 May 23.

The delegation discussed various issues concerning Sports Fishing industry in Andamans.

Port Blair, May 31: A delegation of Gujarat Mitra Mandal called on the Hon’ble Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Shri Purushotham Bhai Rupala on 29th May 2023 in Port Blair. The delegation comprised of Shri Mahesh Bhai Trivedi, Shri Ebrahim Jadwet, Shri Ridham Bhai Badja and others discussed over various subject matters. The Gujarati community have been in the Islands since 1940's and have played a crucial role in the economic development of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, May 31: The Secretary (RD/Panchayat), Ms. Veditha Reddy, IAS visited North and Middle Andaman District and inspected various sites at Mayabunder and Diglipur Block along with the Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman and his team.  On her visit to Diglipur Block on 26th May, 2023, a meeting was conducted with PRI members to discuss about various issues concerning the implementation of the programmes and activities of the Department. During the meeting, the PRIs raised various issues regarding the functioning of the institutions.

Port Blair, May 31: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief General Manager of BSNL, A&N Telecom Circle to install free Wi-Fi hotspots in 70 panchayats of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, along with 24 wards of Port Blair city and seven Tribal councils under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as excess bandwidth is available with BSNL.
