Port Blair, May 12: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,78,497 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,460 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 12,043 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 22179.

Port Blair, May 12: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 464 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 10 flights with 1385 passengers arrived, out of which, 1204 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 267 passengers and the reports are awaited.   

Port Blair, May 11: The Directorate of RD, PRIs and ULBs, Andaman and Nicobar Administration conducted a one day “State Level Virtual Orientation Workshop on Localization of Sustainable Development Goals (LSDGs)” on 10th May, 2022 for the District and Block level Inter-Departmental Coordination Committee across the Islands. The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Vinay Kumar Jindal, Director (RD/Panchayat).

Mr Rakeshwar Lall, State President, Hindu Rashtra Shakti and Shri Abhay Kumar, Hindu Seva Sangh have expressed deeply anguished by the sudden demise of Smti Lipika Roy, W/o Anil Das, R/o New Pahargaon, Sister of Shri Angshuman Roy, State General Secretary (Youth) of Hindu Rashtra Shakti who expired on 12/05/2022 at GB Pant Hospital.

The HRS & HSS prays to the Almighty to give eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family members to bear the irreparable loss.

Port Blair, May 11: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary to build a community Park at Bathu Basthi behind the Municipal parking area on the land presently lying vacant.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary the Member of Parliament mentioned that due to non-availability of a community park in Bathu Basthi, Pathergudda, Prothrapur, Dollygunj, Brichgunj, Austinabad and adjoining areas, the common people including Sr. citizens, children and youths are unable to avail recreational and entertainments facilities.
