Port Blair, Oct. 26: The candidates who had qualified the Physical Endurance Test (PET) conducted w.e.f. 15th   September 2023 to 5th October 2023 for selection against the vacant post of Regular Mazdoors in Industrial Establishment of Wildlife Division have been informed that the list of the qualified candidates in the said Physical Endurance Test (PET) has been uploaded in the Official website of the Department of Environment & Forests, A & N Administration at https//Is. 1.and.Nic.in/forest and/or https://ls.and.nic.in: 8080/mazdoor/authforht.php and the website of the Administration.

The general consumers and Government Departments have been informed that power supply will remain suspended at Light House area, Phongy Chaung, Mohanpura, Vidhyut Bhawan area, Directorate of Transport and Electricity HQ Divisional Office Complex area on Oct. 28 from 0730 hrs. to 1600 hrs, in connection with urgent replacement of 2 dilapidated electric pole of VOR Tie Line near St. Mary’s School, Mohanpura.

Port Blair, Oct. 25: The South Andaman Police has taken prompt and stringent action against two persons who were found to be in possession of fake Army Identity Cards and other fake Government documents so as to get access into Defense establishment. Accordingly, a case under appropriate sections of law has been registered against the violators at Police Station Chatham.

Port Blair, Oct. 25: To promote sports across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and instill a sportsman's spirit among the Islands’ youths, the Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma organized the MP Cup - a stumper ball cricket knockout tournament at Diglipur.

The event saw participation from as many as 22 teams. On the inauguration day, the Member of Parliament received a heartfelt welcome.

Port Blair, Oct. 25: CPI (M) has demanded investigation through Anti-Corruption Branch of CBI into the renovation work of National Highway 4 and construction of bridge at Middle Strait in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. CPI (M) has further demanded to take immediate steps to make the NH4 in the Middle Andaman District at least in motorable condition so that sufferings of thousands of people using the road can be minimized to a great extent.

In a letter sent to Shri Nithin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, New Delhi, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee drew his attention to the dreadful and dismal condition of National Highway 4 in Andaman and Nicobar Islands after the road was re-constructed/re-laid by the NHIDCL in the recent past.
