Port Blair, June 23: The Confederation of Indian Industry-Green Business Centre (Cll-GBC), in collaboration with the NRSE Division, Electricity Department, Port Blair, successfully conducted the Final Validation Workshop under the State Energy Efficiency Action Plan (SEEAP) project for Andaman & Nicobar Islands today at Port Blair. The workshop aimed to gather final input from stakeholders on the action plans and policies outlined in the state energy efficiency action plan. The primary objective of the State Energy Efficiency Action Plan for Andaman & Nicobar Islands is to formulate sector-specific strategies for enhancing energy efficiency in A&N Islands.

Port Blair, June 23: The Department of Fisheries, A&N Administration is implementing a component ‘Motorization of Traditional Craft’ under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme- ‘Blue Revolution’ wherein subsidy is provided for purchase of Outboard/Inboard Marine Engine /Fishing Gear & Propeller. Port Blair, June 23: The Department of Social Welfare is providing pensions/financial assistance to Senior Citizens, Widows, Destitute Women and Divyangjan @ Rs. 2,500/- and Rs.3,000/- to the Senior Citizens above the age of 80 years. As per the Notification of A & N Administration, all the beneficiaries belonging to above category are required to furnish Life Certificate once in a year for continuation of their financial assistance to be credited in their Aadhaar linked bank account.

Port Blair, June 23: Heavy to very heavy rain (07-20 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman Islands and heavy rain (07-11 cm) is also likely to occur at one or two places over Nicobar Island on June 24 & 25. Heavy rain (07-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman Islands on June 26 & 27. Squally weather with strong surface wind speed 40-50 kmph is very likely along and off A&N coast. Sea condition is also likely to be rough to very rough. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along and off A&N Islands till June 27.
