Port Blair, Oct. 5: The Department of Animal Husbandry has undertaken an initiative to support local poultry farmers in. In this endeavor, a total of 850 poultry chicks were distributed to 30 farmers on the island. These chicks are not limited to a single breed; rather, they include a variety, including Vanraja chicks.

This distribution event aimed to promote poultry farming as a sustainable source of income and livelihood for the local farmers on Shaheed Dweep. Poultry farming, which includes breeds like the Vanraja, is known for its robustness and high egg production, making it a valuable asset for those engaged in poultry.

For sustenance, growth and development of MSME, the Ministry of MSME and the A & N Administration implements various schemes and programmes. For availing benefit of these schemes/ programmes, the enterprise should have “Udyam Registration Certificate”

Port Blair, Oct. 5: Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of India is implementing three scholarship schemes for students with disabilities: (a) Pre-matric scholarships for Class IX and X (b) Post-matric scholarships for Class XI to Post-graduation (c) Scholarship for Top Class Education for Graduate/Post Graduate Degree/Diploma through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) (www.scholarships.gov.in)

Port Blair, Oct. 5: Under the Central Sector Scheme - Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) eligible farmer families receive financial benefits of Rs. 6000/- per year which is payable in 3 equal installments of Rs. 2000/- each, every four months. Till now, 14 Installments have been released directly to the bank accounts of the PM- KISAN beneficiaries by the GoI.  The Govt. of India has made the following mandatory requirement which is to be completed before the release of 15th Installment (period August – November) viz. e-KYC is completed, Land details is entered in PM-KISAN portal and Bank account is seeded with Aadhaar.

It is brought to notice of electricity consumers and general public that Relays and CT Testing work at 33/11 KV Garacharma Sub-Station is scheduled to be carried out from 10.10.2023 to 16.10.2023. During the carrying out above mentioned work, the power supply will be affected from 10.10.2023 to 16.10.2023, between 0900 Hrs. and 1600 hrs. at the following area for a period of maximum one and half hour (1 ½ hrs.) on as and when required basis.
