Port Blair, May 26: The Department of Economics and Statistics, A&N Administration conducted plastic awareness drive today in the Office premises and adjacent area of Quarry Hill, Phoenix Bay alongwith Officers and Office Staff as part of public awareness and mobilization exercise under Mission LiFE to promote sustainable livelihood and conservation of environment through eco-friendly measures and avoiding the usage of single use plastics. During the drive, plastic bottles, wrappers and other plastic wastages were collected.

Port Blair, May 26: Small Arms firing practice of 51st Batch of Forester (Trainees) of Forest Training Institute will be carried out at Police Firing Range, Bird Line Prothrapur on May 27 from 6 am to 4.30pm. All concerned have been warned to keep themselves and their vehicles/livestock away from the firing range during the mentioned date and time.

Port Blair, May 26: As informed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region, Govt. of India, Museum Grant Scheme is being run by the Ministry, under which Central / State Governments and Public Sector Undertakings, Societies / Autonomous Bodies, Local Bodies and Trusts are given assistance for establishment of new museums / development of existing museums. For this, financial assistance is provided at the Regional, State and District levels.

Port Blair, May 25: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma recently called on the Chief Secretary of A & N Administration and appraised him about a serious issue being faced by villagers of Tushanbad, Mithakhari, Chouldari, Humpherygunj and Wandoor areas.

The Member of Parliament mentioned that it has been brought to his knowledge by villagers of various South Andaman areas that eleven revenue villages are encircled to the existing Wildlife Sanctuary Lohabarrack i.e.  Tirur, Herberatbad (part), Collinpur, Mahwah Dera, Hobdypur, Bhalughat, Muslim Basthi (Part) Lohabarrack, Chouldari (part) Mamyo & North Wandoor.
