Port Blair, Oct. 6: Working towards its commitment to make the A&N Islands drug-free, N&MA District Police is conducting regular raids. Swiftly acting on credible information on 04/10/2022, a team headed by Inspr. Stalin N.S, SHO PS Diglipur conducted a raid near a parking lot of CHC Diglipur and recovered 2.342 Kgs of illicit ganja from the possession of a person namely Ajit Kumar Tete (30y) resident of Sitanagar, Diglipur. Accordingly, illicit ganja was seized and the accused was arrested on the spot after observing all legal formalities and a case has been registered under relevant sections of NDPS Act at PS Diglipur.

Port Blair, Oct. 6: The Department of Social Welfare has initiated a campaign to create awareness on ‘Ill Effects of Alcohol & Drug Abuse’ involving A&N Police, Health and Education Department. Accordingly, a tentative calendar of activities for students of class IX to XII of different schools has been finalized. The awareness campaign was initiated from Government Model Senior Secondary School, Port Blair today. More than 100 students including teachers and staff attended the programme.
