Port Blair, Aug 12: On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan State President BJP Mahila Morcha, Andaman Nicobar Islands Smti Sampa Banerjee alongwith her team tied Rakhi to the officials of INS JARAWA a Naval base of the Indian Armed Forces under the joint services Andaman and Nicobar Command. On the auspicious day as they stay away from their families, serving the nation Mahila Morcha celebrated this special event with them by tying Rakshasutra on their hands and praying for long and healthy life.

Port Blair, Aug. 12: All citizens have been requested to hoist National Flag from 13th to 15th August, 2022 and requested to take selfies with Tiranga and upload the same on www.harghartiranga.com. Under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (AKAM), ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign has been launched to encourage the citizens to hoist the National Flag of India in their homes. The idea behind the campaign is to instill the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of people and reminisce the journey of India and those who have contributed towards creating this great nation.It is envisaged that all citizens shall be encouraged to hoist Tiranga at their homes during the Independence week from 13th – 15th August.

Deptt. of E&F initiates ‘Each one – Plant one’ programme, Distributes Around 2 Lakh Seedlings

Port Blair, Aug. 12: To improve the nutritional security of the Islands and wellbeing of the islanders as per the direction of the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, the Andaman and Nicobar Administration through Department of Environment & Forests conceived a novel programme ‘Each one – Plant one’, a month long plantation drive of fruit bearing tree seedlings from 15th July to 15th August, 2022 as a part of Van Mahotsava.
