Port Blair, July 5: The last date for fresh admission and re-registration for July 2023 cycle for all Programmes (both for Online and ODL mode) of IGNOU has been extended till July 15, 2023. For online admission and re-registration, students have been advised to log on to https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/ and https://onlinerr.ignou.ac.in/.

Port Blair, July 5: The online exam registration for B.Tech July-2023 theory exam commencing from July 19, 2023 of Pondicherry University shall be enabled for two days only i.e. on July 16 & 17, 2023. The passed out students having arrear papers and regular students of B-Tech who are eligible for the said exam have been advised to contact their respective Faculty In-Charge / Academic Coordinators / Academic Members of their Department for registration, payment of exam fees and any other information related to the theory & practical exam from July 6 to 14.

CPI(M) Demands 1/30th of Pay Plus Bonus to Daily Rated Mazdoors

Port Blair, July 4: CPI (M) has demanded 1/30th of pay plus DA to the daily rated mazdoors with effect from 22nd September, 2017 as ordered by the Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court. In a letter sent to the Lt Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee drew the attention of the Lt. Governor to this blatant violation of the order of the High Court by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration.

Port Blair, July 4: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to issue suitable compensation for the flash flood-affected people of Middle Andaman.

In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament said that on the intervening night of July 1st and 2nd, 2023, heavy rain and high tide resulted in a flash flood in several villages of Middle Andaman causing significant damage and losses to villagers.

Port Blair, July 4: The ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker has written a letter to the Hon'ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands on Monday raising his strong objection over the list published by A&N Police Department wherein many candidates in the notified Schedule Tribe list do not seem to be from A&N Islands. Mr. Bhasker highlighted few names of candidates in the list who do not belong to the ST category of A&N Islands but have applied in the Police Exam.
