Port Blair, Jan 6: The 107th Annual Athletic Meet 2022-2023 of Boys’ Senior Secondary School was organsied today at Boys’ School campus, in which the Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma was the Chief Guest.
The Member of Parliament declared the Annual Athletic Meet open and in his inaugural speech said that this is a proud moment for him to attend the 107th Annual Athletic Meet of Boys’ School, which is one of the oldest schools of these Islands and has its own legacy.

Police Calls Upon the Youth to Stay Away from the Grip of Drug Abuse
Diglipur, Jan 6: The Diglipur Police has called upon the school students to stay away from the alluring grip of drug menace. The DySP of the region Shri Lakshya Pandey while distributing the prizes to the winners of the Annual Athletics Meet of the Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sita Nagar this evening said that students should be cautious not to get trapped under the clutches of drugs of any kind. He said that the students should develop interest in sports and by adopting sports as their hobbies, not only will they remain physically fit, but they will excel in studies and other walks of life as well. Sports inculcates discipline, punctuality, and ethical values, which develops the personality of an individual, he said.

Port Blair, Jan. 6: The Department related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports headed by its Chairman, Shri Vivek Thakur held meeting with the UT Officials on the issue of Teacher Education Strategies and capacity building of Teacher in light of NEP 2020 directives and also on the issue of promoting Rural, Tribal and Adventure Sports especially those featuring in Commonwealth / Asian Olympic Games at Swaraj Dweep today. The other Members of the Committee present in the meeting were S/Shri Ghanshyam Tiwari, Sadashiv Kishen Lokhande, Asit Kumar Mal, Chandreshwar Prasad, Jagannath Sarkar and Dharambir Singh. The Secretary (IT/Agri./E&F), Shri Pankaj Kumar along with other officials of A&N Administration attended the meeting.
