Port Blair, March 31: The Port Blair Municipal Council bid farewell to three employees of the Council, who superannuated from government service.

At a simple function held on 31st March 2022 in the conference hall of the Council Smti.Kavitha Udhaya Kumar, Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council handed over all the retirement benefits including GPF, gratuity and other monetary benefits to the retiring employees.

Port Blair, March 31: The Housing & Estate Department, Andaman and Nicobar Administration had developed Automated Allotment of Government Accommodation Application (AAGA Portal) through IT Department i.e, SOVTECH and the same has been launched on 25/03/2021. It provides end to end solution with no manual intervention for allotment and an attempt has been made to make a paperless solution. It had built in feature of online verification by DDOs, Medical Department (for medical cases) and H&E Department for further verification.

Port Blair, March 31: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,10,244 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,330 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18yrs and 9,471 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 10,435.

It is brought to notice of electricity consumers and general public that due to shifting of shifting of power cables at Phoenix Bay Power House, the power supply will remain suspended on 02.04.2022 (Saturday) from 0800 Hrs. to 1200 Hrs. at following area :-

Demands for Expert Body to Conduct Technical Study and Evaluation of the Condition

Port Blair, March 30: The first meeting of the newly elected State Secretariat of the CPI (M), Andaman & Nicobar Islands was held at the party headquarters at Anarkali, Port Blair today evening (30.03.2022). The meeting through a resolution expressed concern over the  pathetic condition of the ATR road (now NH 4) and the physical and mental harassment of the passengers travelling on this road.
