Port Blair, Dec. 4: The Department of Home Science, JNRM, in association with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Andaman & Nicobar Islands organised Two Day Capacity Building Workshop on “Climate Change in Sustainable Development for School Teachers” from 1st to 2nd December 2022. The valedictory function for the seminar was held on 02nd December 2022 in seminar room, JNRM wherein Shri.Abhishek Bhukal, DANICS, Director (Education), Andaman & Nicobar Administration graced the occasion as Chief Guest.  

Port Blair, Dec. 4: Under skill development initiatives, the Directorate of Industries, A&N Administration will be organizing 3 month’s short term training. Interested applicants, unemployed youth / SHGs and other needy persons may apply their candidature in the prescribed format with necessary documents. The application form can be obtained from the Development Section of the Directorate of Industries. The training for various trades like basic carpentry and wooden handicraft, cane & bamboo handicrafts and general engineering (basic welding, spray painting, smithy & sheet metal will be conducted at Directorate of Industries for a period of three months. Last date for receipt of application is Dec.12, 2022.  The date of commencement of training is Dec.15, 2022.

Port Blair, Dec. 3: The Directorate of Tribal Welfare, A&N Administration in association with JNRM will be conducting a two-day special camp for extending support to the ST beneficiaries for filling of online application on NSP Portal for availing scholarship schemes offered by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India and UT of A & N Administration.

Port Blair, Dec. 4: The Ministry of Minority Affairs, GoI is implementing Padho Pardesh- Scheme of interest subsidy on educational loans for overseas studies for the students belonging to Minority Communities. The objective of the scheme is to award interest subsidy to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of notified minority communities so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education abroad and enhance their employability.

Port Blair, Dec. 3: Together with rest of the country, ‘International Day of Disabled Persons’ was observed today by Directorate of Social Welfare in coordination with NGO PANKH at Divyang Home, Abhyudaya Complex, Ferrargunj. Smti Smitha R, IAS, Secretary (Social Welfare) was the chief guest on the occasion. In her address, she expressed her happiness for organizing such a colourful programme befitting the occasion. She also interacted with the inmates of Old Age Home and Children Home.
